Tuesday’s scheduled Portsmouth Senior Cup game between the Hawks and Gosport Borough has been called off.
The Hawks received an email from Borough secretary Brian Cosgrave late on Saturday morning informing them that they could not fulfill the fixture.
The email stated that ‘injuries and club commitments’ would prevent Borough, who it is believed have also been issued with a new transfer embargo, from playing the game.
A date of Tuesday, November 1, was put forward as an alternative.
However, that proposed night isn’t an option as the Hawks already have a Ryman Premier game on that evening.
Manager Alex Pike has been linked with the vacant manager’s job at AFC Totton, with the Southampton-based club expected to announce their new man early next week.
