STADIUM: Home Park, Plymouth, Devon, PL2 3DQ. The Pilgrims’ ground has a capacity of a little more than 16,000 and Pompey fans will be behind one goal in the covered Barn Park End.

Directions: If you are making the trip by road, travel via Dorchester, Bridport and Honiton on the M27, A31, A35 and A30 – joining the M5 at Exeter then continuing on to the A38 into Plymouth.

Take the turning for the A386, signposted Home Park and then the second exit, Outland Road, also signposted Home Park.

Stay on this road for approximately a mile and the stadium is on your left.

PARKING: There is a large car park at the ground, which is free.

It is operated on a first in before the game, first out after the game basis.

If you are last in, then on average it takes around half an hour to clear.

The car park will probably be full an hour or so before kick-off.

There is some street parking on the side roads on your right as you drive down Outland Road.

nearest train station: If Pompey travel to Plymouth on Thursday, fans can get to game by train from Portsmouth with changes at either Bristol Templemeads or Westbury.

The journey takes around five hours but there are no trains back until the next morning.

Because of engineering works, there are some unusual routes listed.

Again you won’t be able to get back from Plymouth until the next morning.

Plymouth station is about a mile from Home Park, so either grab a taxi, or take a 20-minute walk.

As you come out of the station, turn right and down the hill under the railway bridge.

Just keep walking straight along this road (A386) and you will eventually reach the ground on your right.

WHERE TO EAT AND DRINK: As you would expect for a naval port, there are plenty of pubs around the centre of town.

Nearer the stadium, however, the Britannia, Wolseley Road, PL2 3AA, a sizeable Wetherspoons, is your best bet and only a 10-minute walk away.

It serves the usual food and nearby there is usually a van selling pasties.

There is of course the famous Fanzone marquee at the ground where you pay £5 entry.

That includes a pint and a pasty with music and comedy from a very entertaining duo.

Space is very limited, however, and on past visits very few away fans have been admitted.
