What do you want to say about that then?

It was dull, I was bored out of my skull, there was no real creativity whatsoever.

I didn’t see who was going to pick a pass. When Eoin Doyle and Conor Chaplin were matched up in the second half nobody could pick them out.

Barnet wanted it more, we were incredibly poor in possession, while the pitch didn’t help.

Pompey didn’t deserve to lose, but Conor scored with our only shot on target, which demonstrated how poor we were going forward.

What are your thoughts on Conor Chaplin?

It was a brilliant goal – but I thought he had an absolute mare before that point!

When he beat those two players, I saw Carl Baker to his right and was screaming for him to pass it.

Then he struck a shot from long distance with his weaker foot and for a second I’m thinking ‘What are you doing?’. But it became an unbelievable goal!

It’s time to give him a go at the number 10 role now, operating behind Eoin Doyle would suit him perfectly.

I would question whether physically he could do it, it’s quite demanding, but he has pace, can pick a pass and shoot. Let’s get him in the team.

I don’t know what Gary Roberts does to justify his selection.

And Barnet’s goal?

It was a cheap free-kick to give away and David Forde should have done much better.

Mauro Vilhete’s shot was pretty much in the middle of the goal and he didn’t move, he should have saved that quite happily.

Fair enough if it’s in the corner, but that must have been routine, a good keeper would have caught it.

I don’t know what Forde was playing at there.

Who was your man of the match?

Matt Clarke was one of our better performers, but didn’t have much competition.

He was strong at the back and had a really good game, certainly he looked the most likely to stand up to John Akinde.

Clarke has become a strong leader at the back.

I’m not sure how much longer we’ll be able to keep him.
