Return of injured pair as Danny Cowley makes four Portsmouth changes at Shrewsbury

The striker returns to the Blues side for today’s trip to Shrewsbury, following two matches out since collecting the problem in the Papa John’s Trophy final at Wembley.

He is one of four changes for Danny Cowley’s second match in charge as Pompey seek to build on last weekend’s encouraging opening game.

Marquis comes in for Jordy Hiwula, who misses this afternoon’s encounter through injury.

There is also a return for fit-again Callum Johnson, who has been sidelined since February’s win at Oxford United and replaces James Bolton at right-back.

Today represents both players’ first appearance under Cowley.

Elsewhere, Michael Jacobs was handed a starting spot, with Ronan Curtis absent through international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

While Ben Close is rewarded for his impressive substitute outing against Ipswich by being recalled in place of Andy Cannon.
