Since succeeding Paul Cook in the hot seat in June 2017, Jackett's led the Blues to Checkatrade Trophy glory – something he’ll be aspiring to do again this term once it resumes, with a final against Salford City on the agenda. What's more, Pompey are firmly in the frame to enjoy a Championship return when the campaign recommences, sitting fourth in the League One table and two points outside the automatic promotion places. In total, Jackett has made 41 signings, with some faring better than others. Here, sports writer Will Rooney selects his best XI from those who have arrived under Jackett – but do you agree?
1. GK - Craig MacGillivray
An assured signing on a free from Shrewsbury in June 2018. Made the crucial save in Checkatrade Trophy final shootout triumph against Sunderland last season and has hardly made a mistake in his 83 outings. Unlucky to have lost his place to Alex Bass this term. Photo: Joe Pepler
2. RB - Nathan Thompson
Kenny Jackett's first signing in June 2017. Gave two seasons of wearing his heart on his sleeve and bagged the crucial equaliser in the Checkatrade Trophy final. The Thompson Flop was lapped up by fans but he left last summer after Pompey's failure to reach the Championship. Photo: Joe Pepler
3. CB - Sean Raggett
Took some serious flak at the start of the season following loan arrival from Norwich. However, he's slowly become a Fratton cult hero, with fans now chanting 'Raggett for England'. His improvement has been incredible. Photo: Daniel Chesterton
4. CB - Lee Brown
Worth remembering Jackett inherited Christian Burgess, Matt Clarke and Jack Whatmough. Brown's been a sound addition since joining from Bristol Rovers in June 2018. A leader on and off the pitch and could do a job at centre-half. Photo: Joe Pepler
