It is being reported that Pompey have missed out on the loan acquisition of Brighton youngster Robert Hunt.

According to HITC Sport, the Seagulls have rejected offers from the Blues, Cambridge United and Crawley Town for the versatile defender.

Hunt, who is a regular for Brighton’s under-21 side, has yet to make his senior debut for the club.

But the highly-rated 21-year-old, who can play at either left or right-back, has featured in all of the Seagulls’ pre-season games this summer.

And it is understood boss Chris Hughton does not want to let Hunt leave, with a first-team breakthrough imminent.
