Gregory keen to master The Grove on tour debut

Have your say

Scott Gregory shot an opening-round 74 at the British Masters today.

The Corhampton Golf Club member, who was playing alongside David Howell (73) and Pelle Edberg (69) at The Grove, finished the first day on three-over par.

The British Amateur champion was level par after nine holes, after starting on the 10th.

But while he enjoyed birdies at the second and fifth, his inward nine included five bogeys.

This ensures he was eight shots off the pace set by leaders Mikko Ilonen, Tommy Fleetwood, Richard Sterne and Marc Warren (66).

Gregory tees-off tomorrow at 1.25pm.
