The bandana-wearing bear first made an appearance in 1985, but how has he changed over the years - and has he had any lavish looks? Here’s a look at one of the nation’s favourite cuddly bears over the years.

Pudsey made his first appearance on Children in Need in 1985, pictured here as a brown bear with a red and black bandana over one eye, alongside Joanna Lumley. The bear was created and named by BBC graphic designer Joanna Lane, who worked in the BBC’s design department (Photo: BBC Children in Need)
A year later, Pudsey returned as the official logo with some updates to his design. The 1986 version saw Pudsey with yellow fur, sporting a white bandana with red spots.
