Local orchestra moves to new location

Solent Philharmonic Winds is getting very excited, not only are they getting close to performing their concert "Melodic Landscapes" at Cams Hill School Theatre on November 28, but they have moved in to their fantastic new rehearsal space, a dedicated studio, also at the school

For the last couple of years the orchestra has been rehearsing in Fareham but due to unavailability of appropriate facilities in the area they performed concerts at Park Community Theatre in Havant. Responding to comments from supporters and potential audience members in the Fareham area they have moved their performance location to the excellent facilities at Cams Hill School’s Theatre.

The concert titled “Melodic Landscapes” will fire the audience’s imagination taking them from the bustling waterfront in Hong Kong, south to Africa, across the Atlantic to the USA, a reminder of France during WW2, finally touring the UK ending up in the market town of Winslow in Buckinghamshire.

The concert’s programme highlights compositions written in the twentieth century all specifically for wind ensembles and with a couple of exceptions by British composers.

Tickets are available online priced at £2 to £10 from: https://snappytickets.co.uk/event/melodic-landscapes/ and on the door.
