A34Â to be partly closed for hours after horse box overturns
The accident happened on the northbound carriageway of the A34Â at Three Maids at around 11.30am.Â
The horse has been safely taken off the carriageway, police have said.Â

Hide AdHowever the road is expected to be closed for several hours while the incident is dealt with.Â
Hants Road Policing tweeted: '˜A34 northbound is currently shut at Three Maids after a horse box overturned.
'˜The horse is safely off the carriageway.
'˜The road may remain shut for a couple of hours while this is dealt with, so please avoid the A34. Diversions are in place via the A272.'Â
Highways England have put a diversion in place - with road users wanting to join the A34 to stay on the M3 and follow the '˜solid diamond' diversions symbols.Â

Hide AdContinue to J7 and then exit and join the westbound J8 carriageway, then join the link road to the A303 (westbound) and continue for six miles.Â
Exiting at the A34 Bullington Cross interchange, turn right at the T junction beneath the A303 and A34 to the roundabout taking the first exit to rejoin the A34 northbound.Â
