Accountancy firm holds budget breakfast meet

MORE than 150 business people attended the Wilkins Kennedy Budget Breakfast Briefing, designed to bring the business community up to date with the announcements from the spring budget.

Accountancy firm Wilkins Kennedy hosted the event, with speakers presenting on current economic developments, business and personal tax issues.

The finer points of the budget, such as those affecting self-employed, remuneration planning, business reliefs and property, were all discussed. Those in attendance were also encouraged to give some thought to their year-end tax plan to make the most of any reliefs available to them.

Geoff Collis, partner at Wilkins Kennedy’s Portsmouth office and event host, said: ‘There are a number of measures being introduced in the next few weeks and these are likely to make a difference to a number of businesses.

‘It was a great opportunity to update everybody and inform them of what they can do to mitigate any risk as well as make an effective plan. We look forward to our autumn budget events later this year.’
