Bank helps school fund its new senior building

A CO-EDUCATIONAL day school in Southsea is celebrating opening a new senior department to coincide with its 120th anniversary, supported by a significant loan from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

Mayville High School officially opened the new ‘Michael Babcock House’ — named in honour of the chair of trustees — last week. It includes a hall, six classrooms, a design and technology workshop, a student common room and an IT suite.

Headteacher Rebecca Parkyn said: ‘This is a significant step forward for the school in its development programme and staff and pupils will benefit hugely from the new building.’
