When complete, there will be seven restaurants and 195 homes at the marina, with 658 homes to follow in the second phase.

Three years ago Casa Brasil opened its first restaurant in Southampton, a year later it opened a second in Bournemouth, and last summer Port Solent became its third restaurant.

It has taken a new 15-year lease on the 6,000sq ft unit and the restaurant will be open later this summer.

Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell director Tom Holloway said: ‘Following the huge success of the Port Solent restaurant, the new unit at The Boardwalk is another exciting development for Casa Brasil.

‘Its Brazilian Rodizio format is very popular with diners and Brighton Marina should be completed in good time for the summer.’

The Rodizio style is an all-you-can-eat steakhouse with waiters bringing out different cuts of meat.

David Hall, of Casa Brasil, said: ‘The opening of our fourth restaurant marks a major milestone in the company’s development. In under a year since its opening, Port Solent is already our fastest-growing outlet accounting for over 50 per cent of our diners. The prospects for The Boardwalk are equally exciting as Brighton is another amazing waterside destination.’

Casa Brasil has plans for a fifth restaurant in Bristol, which it hopes to open by the end of the year, and future sites are being sought.
