In the light of recent geopolitical events and market turmoil, the outlook for the UK economy seems more uncertain than ever.

To get a better idea of where we are headed, please join the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance for its inaugural public lecture to be delivered by Professor Stephen Millard, Deputy Director (Macroeconomic Modelling and Forecasting) at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR), on Wednesday 22 March from 5pm

Run with support from our strategic partners, the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, Professor Millard will present NIESR’s latest view on the economic outlook for the United Kingdom. He will share an expert analysis of the impact of the Spring Budget and the series of significant fiscal and monetary policy events that preceded it. As part of his presentation, Professor Millard will provide a current view on the economic prospects for the South-East region.

Is your business looking to grow?

Are you a business looking to grow but not sure how to do it? We want companies to join our Solent scaleup programme, which is designed to evaluate the capability and competency strengths and gaps within a company that support or prevent its ability to scaleup.

Companies engaging in the programme will undertake an online diagnostic (typically taking 20 minutes), followed by a face-to-face conversation (typically 1hr) with the University's research team who will then produce a scaleup report and recommended actions.

Following the report, we will provide a series of bespoke workshops (Four half day sessions), hosted by research practitioners and business entrepreneurs through a series of peer-led conversations to help explore solutions, build a personal long-term support network and provide support in turning the report into an action plan.
