Cash windfall could help boost island
EU funding has become available to help rural businesses.
Cash has been allocated to two Local Action Groups, one of which covers Hayling Island.
The LEADER programme, announced by the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, will provide grants to small businesses, farmers, foresters and communities for projects that create jobs and grow the rural economy.
The total pot of cash is £3.2m and the scheme is being led by West Sussex County Council. For more information email [email protected].
