Commercial lawyer joins firm's real estate team

EXPERIENCED commercial property lawyer Graham Bennett, a well-known figure on the south coast, has joined Blake Morgan as a legal director.

Graham joins the firm from Shoosmiths, where he was a partner for more than 20 years, and works in the firm’s Real Estate team, which won the title of Property Law Firm of the Year at the 2016 South Coast Property Awards.

Based at Blake Morgan’s offices at Chandler’s Ford, he is a specialist in the legal aspects of the purchase, sale and development of commercial property for a range of clients including private property investors, developers, local authorities and retailers.

Graham was responsible for the founding of the Real Estate department at the Solent offices of Shoosmiths in 1994, and his client roster includes household names including Forelle Estates, Southampton City Council, RBS, HSBC, Vivergo Fuels, Selex and Esso Petroleum.

Graham said: ‘As investment in the region continues, the commercial property market on the south coast is going from strength to strength. Blake Morgan has a fantastic reputation regionally and nationally. I’m looking forward to helping drive forward the growth of the firm’s real estate service.’
