Following the end of the nationwide lockdown, which ended at midnight, residents and businesses will now have new rules to follow on household mixing and when pubs and shops can open.

Non-essential retailers, which were told to close their stores during lockdown, can now reopen and our area’s high streets are expected to be busy with Christmas shoppers today.

Household mixing indoors is banned but the rule of six will apply outside.
