Eat Out to Help Out: Can you still use discount on August bank holiday in Portsmouth? Here's when it will end

Diners in the Portsmouth area have been taking advantage of the discount scheme on Mondays to Wednesdays throughout August.

The Chancellor’s scheme has seen more than 64 million meals claimed across the country as of August 25.

But when does it come to an end? Here’s what you need to know:

Has Eat Out to Help Out ended?

The discount scheme has diners able to get a 50 per cent discount on food up to £10 per person throughout August.

However if you have not yet taken advantage of it, don’t worry you still have one last opportunity left.

Eat Out to Help Out has been running on Mondays to Wednesdays throughout the month and it will continue on August 31, the upcoming bank holiday.

Meaning you can get a discount if you go out for a meal this coming Monday.

Will it be extended?

Currently the Chancellor has not announced plans to continue the Eat Out to Help Out scheme into September.

So August 31 is your last chance to take advantage of the deal.

However some restaurant chains have announced that they will be continuing the discount into next month out of their own pocket.

This includes:

- Toby Carvery – available until September 9

- Harvester – available until September 9

- Pizza Hut – with a two for one deal on Mondays to Wednesday from September 7

- Tesco Cafe – until the end of September

- Bill’s
