Flooding forces zero waste shop to consider future and move to Wickham

FLOODING has forced an eco shop to move locations – and it has quickly found a new home at a community hub.

Downpours hit zero waste shop All Good Things of Wickham and prompted owner Nina Goodall to consider the suitability of their premises at Shedfield Equestrian Centre.

Not wanting to miss out on further trade, she needed to find somewhere quickly to temporarily locate to.

Fortunately Wickham Community Centre was able to offer a space immediately, and the shop has moved in there.

All Good Things, which is at the front of the centre in the former nursery room, is now open for business.

Nina said: ‘We're really excited to be able to offer our services to the residents of Wickham, who can now shop with us without needing to drive.

‘We've seen lots of new faces as well as plenty of our supportive regulars. We're eternally grateful for the support of the community centre and staff. We are really glad to be working with them.’

Kate English, community centre manager, said: ‘We were delighted to be able to help Nina. The last few months have been difficult for so many people, and the centre was completely shut for four months.

‘We are fully open now, and activities are coming back slowly. The shop is already bringing new faces to the centre, which is brilliant.’

All Good Things of Wickham opened last year. It is a refill and zero waste store, offering packaging-free food, detergents and toiletries, along with a variety of eco friendly alternatives to everyday products.
