The seven Hampshire properties being auctioned off as dream renovation projects

At 109A Earnest Road, Fratton, the guide price is £150,000-£160,000.

Rob Marchant, Clive Emson’s Hampshire auctioneer, said: ‘This three-bedroom house, with a small courtyard garden, has been in use as a letting investment in recent times and is considered ideal for continued rental if required.

‘Alternatively, the house could be used for owner occupation. It requires some cosmetic refurbishment but is considered very worthy of the improvements required.’

For around £15,000 less, renovators could purchase a three-bedroom semi-detached house at 99 Ludlow Road in Paulsgrove – which has been described as needing ‘upgrading and refurbishment’.

But arguably the jewel in the crown for this auction is an old guest house at 11 Cavendish Road in Southsea.

The four-bedroom property, guided freehold at £600,000+, was built in 1860 and still retains many original Victorian features.

Mr Marchant said: ‘Built as a family home, the property in recent times traded successfully as a B&B, a use which could continue or, alternatively, the property could revert to a splendid family home.

‘The home could suit other purposes as well, subject to planning consents.’

Also up for auction is a mid-terrace four-bedroom house in Fareham, guided freehold at £190,000-210,000; a three-bedroom house at 24 Castle Road, Rowland’s Castle, for £300,000-£320,000; parking areas in The Chase and Course Park Crescent, Fareham; and land east of New Barn Farm Lane in Waterlooville, which is currently broken down into four smaller grazing paddocks with post and rail fencing.

Mr Marchant said: ‘We anticipate keen interest from the equestrian community – this beautiful rural location has road frontage, access, a portable triple stable block, a separate barn/store with water supply and lighting from a generator, as well as full equestrian planning.’
