The Goodwood Hotel is named as one of the best in the UK in The Times and The Sunday Time Best Places to Stay guide

A HOTEL has been named as one of the best in the country.

The Goodwood Hotel was listed in this year’s prestigious The Times and The Sunday Times Best Places to Stay guide.

Winners were chosen by the editorial travel team who visited all the hotels listed in the guide and rated The Goodwood Hotel, which is on the Goodwood Estate, as the winner of Best Hotel in the south east.

Andrew Coggings, Goodwood’s entertaining and hospitality managing director, said: ‘We are all thrilled to receive this tremendous accolade, especially in the most challenging of times. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff that we have been able to continue delivering outstanding experiences for our guests.'

The Goodwood Hotel offers seasonal dining at its field to fork, organic restaurant Farmer, Butcher, Chef. Activities include children’s forest school sessions, farm tours, and guided woodland walks in the 12,000 acre estate. It is the second award recently for the hotel, which also won best Large Hotel of the Year in the 2019/20 Beautiful South Awards.

The new edition of The Times and The Sunday Times Best Places to Stay was published on Sunday. It is a comprehensive list of the UK’s best hotels, with 80 detailed reviews and a search tool allowing readers to find the perfect staycation.

Duncan Craig, the travel editor of The Times and The Sunday Times said: ‘The annual Sunday Times Best Places to Stay guide, featuring the very best British hotels, has become the gold standard of the industry over the past decade. It’s a tribute to this thriving sector that even in this most challenging of years, we’ve seen a raft of exciting new openings, as well as established names upping their games.'
