Hovertravel tunes in to Isle of Wight Radio

PASSENGERS on their way across the Solent will be treated to the sounds of Isle of Wight radio thanks to a new partnership.

Hovertravel has signed a deal to play Isle of Wight radio exclusively at both of its terminals; in Ryde and Southsea.

Loretta Lale, head of commercial at Hovertravel, said: ‘The feedback from our customers was that they wanted local news, relevant to the area they were travelling to or from. Our visitors from further afield also enjoy the experience of local radio, giving them an insight into the community they are visiting.’

Isle of Wight Radio is the most listened to radio station on the Isle of Wight, reaching more than 65 per cent of the adult Island population.

Claire John, managing director, said: ‘This partnership allows Isle of Wight Radio to reach additional listeners and offer them a chance to hear the sound of the Island before they cross the Solent.’
