There were huge queues at Primark first thing, with the line extending back down the street.

The government announced last week that non-essential shops could open on June 15, after they were ordered to shut at the start of lockdown.

Long queues were also outside Sports Direct and there were also lines at H&M, Argos and Debenhams.
