Hardebrayh Apdo has been given the green light to take over the Mega Bet unit next to Iceland, to revamp the shopfront and install rooftop condenser units to allow the new Premier shop to open.

His application was submitted in September after he took over control of the unit, which has hosted various betting shops over more than a decade and was previously marketed with a £22,500 a year rent.

In its report approving the scheme, the council said the area was able to cope with an expected increase in the number of pedestrians in the area following the opening of the new shop

It said the location of the building within the designated Cosham High Street district centre made it 'acceptable' for the conversion.
