Portsmouth Fabric Land store to permanently close after nearly 30 years

THE city branch of a fabric store, that has been open for nearly three decades, will permanently close.

Fabric Land announced the Portsmouth store in Cascades Shopping Centre will not be reopening due to not reaching an agreement over the lease.

The store, which sells fabric and haberdashery, has been part of the shopping centre for the last 28 years.

A statement on Facebook read: ‘Unfortunately Portsmouth Fabric land will not be returning. After 28 years it has not been possible to reach an acceptable agreement regarding a new lease.

All other branches will begin to reopen from Monday and will be open from 9.15am to 5.30pm and closed for lunch and cleaning from 2pm till 2.45pm Monday to Saturday.
