Pubs, restaurants and hairdressers can all reopen their doors in England today as lockdown measures are further eased.

Business owners have been working hard to make sure they are meeting social distancing guidelines, and customers should expect queues, use of face masks and new booking systems.

In Portsmouth and Hampshire many pubs and hairdressers are reopening and reporters from The News have been out in the city bringing you the latest updates.

One bar which will be opening for the first time is Sherlock’s in Southsea, which has been themed around Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary detective character.

Joint owner Richard Peckham said the opportunity to run the bar only came about during lockdown. He told The News: ‘It was actually a good time for us – we’ve been able to work really hard on getting it all ready.’
