Plans to give the Pyramids Centre in Clarence Esplanade, Southsea a £2.5m makeover have been unveiled, including a state-of-the-art gym.

However it would also see the swimming pool replaced with a children's play and bounce facility, made up of soft play, climbing and trampolines.

Becky Smith said: ‘I have loved the pyramids since a young childhood. I've been attending weekly with toddler due to lagoon pool and slides pre covid despite it needing a revamp. Guess we'll go elsewhere. Such a loss for Portsmouth, not everyone can travel. As others have said there are similar venues in Portsmouth already.’
