On the Food Standards Agency website, the recall alert says: ‘These products might be contaminated with Hepatitis A.

Symptoms caused by Hepatitis A usually include fever, nausea, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, dark-coloured urine and jaundice (a yellowing of the skin).’

Sainsbury’s advises customers not to eat the dates, if they have purchased them, and return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.
