Winton House, in Portsdown Hill Road, has returned to the market with luxury agents Fine and Country.

It was last on the market in July but was removed before its owner, Akhtar Siddiqui, attempted to raffle it off at £10 a ticket in August.

The draw offered entrants a chance of winning the home, which looks over Portsmouth and the South Downs, and its detached orangery, annexe and pool house.

But organisers emailed ticketholders on Monday, November 23 announcing the raffle had been cancelled and full refunds would be issued.

The reason for the draw’s cancellation is unknown, but a Fine and Country spokeswoman told The News: ‘The client decided to sell it through the traditional service’.

A message published by organisers to the raffle’s website reads: ‘The Winton House competition is cancelled under Clause 5.3 of the terms and conditions.’

Adding: ‘5.3 The Promoters reserve the right to cancel the Competition at any time either before or after tickets have been sold.

‘If the competition is cancelled, the Promoter Lit Digi Ltd will return the Entry Fees minus the transaction fees to each Entrant (either by bank card refund or by cheque and in one combined payment where several entries have been made by a competitor).

‘Where the entry fee minus the transactions fees is returned, the promoter shall have no further liability to the entrant or to any other person.’

The owners did not respond to The News a fortnight ago when asked why the raffle had been cancelled.

Winton House was previously valued at £3.2m by Emsworth-based estate agent Henry Adams.

The property was last sold in November, 2009 for £850,000, before undergoing extensive an renovation.

Fine and Country would not reveal the property’s current price, which is listed as price on application.
