D-Day Story museum welcomes back visitors for the first time since lockdown

The D-Day Story museum in Southsea will open it doors to the public today (July 14) after receiving the ‘We're Good to Go’ standard, which shows the museum is following government and public health guidance.

As part of a coronavirus risk assessment, measures put in place will include two-metre social distancing, hand-cleansing facilities and staggered entry during busy periods.

Visitors’ contact details will be temporarily stored in case people need to be contacted as part of the national track and trace system.

Speaking about the reopening of the museum, Portsmouth City Council’s cabinet member for culture, Steve Pitt, said: ‘The D-Day Story is an internationally important museum and a massive part of our city's cultural landscape. I'm so glad it's been possible to open its doors again.’

The museum will be open from 10am to 5pm with last entry at 3.30pm.
