Defence company staff spend day volunteering

STAFF from a defence firm spent the day clearing a copse as part of its social responsibilty programme.

A team of 13 volunteers from Lockheed Martin in Havant, including new vice-president Paul Livingston, gave up their time to clear an area of St Clare’s Copse, Leigh Park in conjunction with Groundwork South, to create an education area for children to enjoy.

Mr Livingston said: ‘It was a great morning. We hope that both the wildlife and the local community benefit from the work that our team has put in.’

The day was organised by charity Community First. For more go to cfirst.org.uk
