Engineering event for pupils

HUNDREDS of young people took part in an event to find out more about engineering.Â

The Solent Festival of Engineering saw 700 pupils from schools and colleges across the Solent visit Fareham Leisure Centre.

There were lots of interactive engineering experiences including virtual reality, rocket cars, coding challenges, 3D printing, Lego building, drones, model railways and more.

There were 50 stallholders, each with a team of experts. Fareham MP Suella Braverman hosted the event and the public and the Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Susan Bayford, also attended.

Mrs Braverman said: '˜Thanks to all who helped make it a success. Support from sponsors like Saab Seaeye, NATS, Fareham College, Qinetiq, Elliott Wood, Standard Aero, British Gas, Aquila Nuclear Engineering and Richer Education made it possible.'
