Tibble’s Florist on Hayling Island has been in business for 80 years.

And Havant MP Alan Mak visited the shop to praise the family-run business for its ‘excellent reputation’ and ‘outstanding service’.

Tibble’s Florist has been on Hayling since the 1930s.

Until 2000 the shop was owned by Peter Tibble, before being taken over by his daughter Debbie, who is a qualified florist with 31 years of experience.

Keeping up the family tradition Katie, Debbie’s daughter, joined the family business in 2006 to train and work alongside her mother.

Mr Mak met Debbie and Katie, who gave the Havant MP a tour of the Elm Grove premises, which caters for birthdays, summer shows, funerals and weddings.

The firm’s distinctive van delivers the hand-made arrangements to customers across Hayling, Havant, Emsworth and Waterlooville.

Mr Mak said: ‘Congratulations to Tibble’s Florist.

‘I was delighted to join Debbie and the team to mark the occasion. Debbie, who took over the shop from her father, maintains the excellent quality and brilliant family values that have kept Hayling in bloom since the 1930s.’

Debbie said: ‘Thanks to our local MP Alan for showing his support as we celebrate our 80th birthday. We’re delighted to have the support of Hayling residents, who have ensured that our family business can continue thriving.’

Mr Mak says he is a strong supporter of small independent businesses across Havant and hosted the inaugural Havant Small Business Awards earlier this year to celebrate and showcase the best of local innovation and enterprise.
