LAW firm Trethowans is backing calls to take the blame out of divorce.

Solicitors from Trethowans, the lead sponsor for The News Business Excellence Awards, are supporting Resolution’s campaign for ‘no-fault divorce’ during Good Divorce Week, which runs until December 1.

Currently, there is only one ground on which a petition for divorce can be presented by either party and that is that the marriage has broken down irretrievably. Grant Cameron, partner at Trethowans, said: ‘A no-fault divorce could greatly assist in reducing the inevitable tensions that arise on marriage breakdown.’
