The Prince of Wales, in West Street, has been given a major makeover after pub firm Admiral Taverns spent £60,000 on the venue.

The interior of the local has been completely transformed, with two small bars having been redesigned into a light and open bar lounge space with pool table and darts area.

The pub now has the capability to host live music and entertainment at the weekend.

Landlady Ann Redman recently welcomed Havant MP Alan Mak – pictured – along to celebrate the work.

Ann’s son, Joe Redman, 21, who lives at the pub and helps out behind the bar, says he’s delighted with the way things have turned out.

Joe said: ‘It looks a lot better than before.

‘It’s a lot more open; before it was split into two bars and was quite small.

‘It’s now a lot more friendly, and there’s more space for people to come in. We don’t want to move out any time soon.

‘So we are hoping it will attract more people to the pub.

‘The pub has a more friendly feel.

‘We are all just really, really pleased, they have done a superb job.’

The pub has also launched a new food menu, ranging from all day breakfasts to burgers as well as a low-calorie food options for those who want to be more careful when dining out.

It complements a broader drinks menu with four cask conditioned beers now available, which are cask marque accredited.
