Historic yellow pub on seafront is on the market

A HISTORIC pub has gone up for sale.

The Olive Leaf, in Sea Front, Hayling Island, is on the market with a guide price of £70,000 for the leasehold interest.

The business has been serving the local and tourist trade for many years under Mike Berry and his wife Tonya.

Mike said: ‘We have enjoyed our time at the Olive Leaf, it is a great local pub with good honest food and the summer trade from tourists and the local holiday parks really boosts the over annual turnover.’

Kate Dowd, of Fleurets, said: ‘This pub is well-known locally and has an amazing view over the beach to the sea. Tourists can’t fail to spot the bright yellow pub.’

People on Hayling have been fighting to keep their pubs, but The Rose in June was turned into a convenience store in 2013 and The Hayling Billy closed earlier this year.
