Hovercraft company takes on four students

FOUR students undertook work placements for a passenger hovercraft service over some of its busiest days of the year.

The students, who are on various travel and tourism courses at Highbury College in Cosham, undertook the placement over the weekend of the Isle of Wight Festival.

Andrew Ross, head of ground operations at Hovertravel, which runs from Southsea to Ryde, said: ‘Work experience placements are usually the first chance for a young person to see the world of work for themselves. We wanted to engage students by involving them in some of our busiest days.’
