How this Gunwharf Quays restaurant is using cups of tea to combat loneliness in Portsmouth
The Cosy Club in Gunwharf Quays has launched an initiative called Free Teas For Those In Need, which offers a free cup of tea for those who are lonely.

Hide AdTaking place every Wednesday from 10am to 11am, the weekly event will also allow those who are lonely to meet and chat to new people.
The scheme – run with the charity Independent Age – comes after figures from Age UK suggested that 1.9m older people often feel ignored or invisible.
Managing director of Cosy Club, Amber Wood, said: ‘Loneliness isn’t an issue that affects just one group of people in our society, it can affect everyone of all ages and abilities across the country, with sometimes devastating impact.

‘There is no catch – we just believe it’s a nice thing to do in our community, and hope that everyone passes this on to someone they know who may benefit.’
