Curry house and takeaway Haldi in Southsea shortlisted for Restaurant of the Year
Curry house shortisted for award
A Southsea curry house is competing for the top spot in the 19th Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) Awards.
Haldi, in Albert Road, will go head-to-head with 47 Indian restaurants across the country to claim the prestigious title of ‘Restaurant of the Year’.
The Southsea Bangladeshi and Indian restaurant and takeaway opened in 2017 and over the course of the past nine years, it has been recognised with the BCA award and the Tiffin Cup Commended Finalists.

Restaurants from Chandler’s Ford and Petersfield also made the cut and will attend the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, London, on November 1 to see who will be crowned the winner.
Bangladesh Caterers Association president Oli Khan MBE said: “Reaching our 19th BCA Awards is a proud moment for the Association and our industry. This year’s theme, ‘Honouring today’s achievements, inspiring tomorrow’s success’, reflects the spirit of everyone who has built this sector, from the pioneers who opened the UK’s early curry houses to the chefs, families and entrepreneurs shaping its future.
“Our shortlisted restaurants show the skill, resilience and ambition that continue to make this industry such an important part of British life.”
