Lindt in Portsmouth to giveaway free chocolate teddy this festive period - find out how to claim

Shoppers will have the chance to pick up free chocolate over the next two weekends as Lindt look to bring back a nostalgic festive tradition.

Research undertaken by the Swiss chocolatier has shown that 45 per cent of UK adults miss their childhood festive traditions, with receiving chocolate in a stocking a big feature.

To help relive these magical memories a free 100g chocolate teddy will given to customers who bring their stocking to the Lindt Gunwharf store on December 13,14 and 20 and 21 - while stocks last.

Angèle Villet, Marketing Director at Lindt & Sprüngli UK, said: “Our research shows adults are nostalgic about their childhood traditions, so this Christmas let our Lindt TEDDY bring back the festive joy.

“Get your beloved stocking from the loft or treat yourself to a new one before heading to a participating Lindt store and add more magic into the season with Lindt TEDDY.”

The research showed that almost half of UK adults (45 per cent) miss their childhood festive traditions, with receiving a stocking top for 44coming per cent and rising to 54 per cent for those aged 60+. Also, over two thirds of adults (73 per cent) say they used to enjoy discovering chocolate in their stocking.

For every chocolate teddy sold during the festive period, £1 will be donated to the NSPCC to support children. The chocolatiers are hoping to raise over £100,000 for the charity which it has partnered with since 2016, raising £800,000 in the process.

Kirsty Lawson, Associate Head of Corporate Partnerships at the NSPCC, said: “We’re delighted that Lindt & Sprüngli UK is once again supporting the NSPCC. This festive season, many children will be gleefully opening a Lindt TEDDY they’ve found in their stocking, yet, for other children, the holiday period brings uncertainty and fear within the home.

“Young people will be reaching out to Childline with a variety of concerns. This partnership helps us continue to fund this crucial service at a time when children need us most.”

More than 2,000 chocolate teddies will be given away across the nation over the two weekends with the offer limited to one per person.
