Locks Heath Shopping Village will celebrate St George's Day

A SHOPPING village will host a quintessentially English celebration of national pride, to raise money for charity.

Locks Heath Shopping Village will be celebrating St George’s Day on Saturday from 11am until 4pm, with the proceeds going to veterans’ charity, Combat Stress.

Two classic Morgan cars, will be on display, and a face painter will be there to paint the cross onto the faces of shoppers.

Throughout the day, Alexander Hadleigh Wine Merchants and Strawberry Field Tavern will be treating shoppers to free samples.

The Morris Men of Southampton will also be present

Ian Goodridge, centre manager, said: ‘We look forward to welcoming as many people as possible. It’s set to be a brilliant day.’
