Manufacturer honoured with a royal accolade

BioPure, a Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group UK business, which is based in Lakesmere Road, Horndean, has been honoured in the annual scheme, which recognises businesses in celebration of The Queen’s birthday.

BioPure specialises in the design and manufacture of fluid path components for use with biopharmaceutical processes.

Jay Whalen, president at Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group, which is headquartered in Falmouth, said: ‘The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are one of the most prestigious business awards in the country.

‘We have clearly demonstrated the success of our strategic decision to move our trading base into international trade – this part of our business now accounts for 76.7 per cent of total turnover.

‘Through a powerful combination of organic growth, and a series of strategic acquisitions – including the BioPure Technology business – we have grown our international presence while maintaining a strong profile with the UK.

‘Our strategy to offer our global customers a single source of complete fluid path technologies is working.’
