The Liberty Lounge launched on Friday, February 7 in Grove Road, Southsea with a flamboyant launch party.

The new social enterprise, which is owned by mum-of-three Jennifer Sanchez, aims to bring together a community of women - and men - and allow them to experiment with their identity, explore their creativity and find their ‘path’.

It is a collaboration between several business owners and creatives in the city who will hold daily workshops, which can be attended by either paying a one-off fee or becoming a member.

The workshops have three categories - spiritual, business and self development and creative.

Some of them include spell casting, website and Instagram help, iPhoneography, calligraphy, poetry, yoga, body positivity drawing and more.

Jennifer, who also runs Dimples and Daisies Photography and Liberty Photography, which are both based one door along from the Liberty Lounge on Grove Road, launched the new space as she wanted to create a safe space for women to find their path.

The 34-year-old said: ‘It’s really exciting to have somewhere people can come and get creative and level themselves up. When you get out of your comfort zone, that is when you see growth.

‘I want to create connection. When people feel like they have found their tribe and their safe space, they can level up mentally.

‘I want to help them find their path in life, while doing it in a safe space. I want to raise the tables and connect like-minded women.

‘It might be years before you really put yourself first.’

Part of the membership includes a Liberty Luxury card, which enables users to get discounts at places around the city, including Drift bar, the Akash and the Tenth Hole.

The new business venture goes hand-in-hand with Jennifer’s other business, Liberty Photography, which she has run for five years, as it focuses on empowering women and making them step outside of their comfort zone through photography.

Although it is mainly aimed at women, it welcomes people of all genders, ages and backgrounds.
