Hide AdMiss Fernandes said: ‘These figures are excellent news for Fareham, which is doing even better than other areas locally in reducing unemployment.
‘We now have record numbers of people in jobs, which is a tribute to the many excellent businesses we have here, which are helping to boost the local economy and spread prosperity.
‘It’s also good news that wages are rising, which with inflation remaining flat means individual households are better off in real terms. It shows how important it is to keep supporting our growing economy, and helping people to achieve the security they want for themselves and their families.’
The figures show Fareham to be ranked 600th for its unemployment rate, Chichester was 515, Gosport 481, Portsmouth North 421, Havant 321, and Portsmouth South was 301.
