The Network Pompey Business Club, which is part of Network My Club, held its networking breakfast at Fratton Park earlier this month.

Anders Swaffield, digital marketing coordinator, said that more than 60 businesses from across the city and afar attended to make the latest meeting one of the most successful to date.

On top of the networking and breakfast, head of performance and recruitment at Portsmouth Football Club, Dave Wright, gave a talk about his short playing career at Pompey, the injury that forced him to hang up his boots, and how this eventually led him into his current role at the club.

Dave also spoke about the exciting short and long-term plans ahead for the Pompey Academy.

Following the event, attendee Richard Maiden of RSM Restructuring Advisory LLP said: '˜I thoroughly enjoyed Network Pompey and liked the set up, relaxed atmosphere, venue and guest speaker. It ticked all the boxes.'

Emma Kennedy-Cox, of Learning Links, said: '˜It was my first time going to a Network Pompey event but it won't be my last.'

Mark Higgins, from Compass Wealth Management, said: '˜The event was really good, it had a very friendly and relaxed feel to it. Some of the other networking groups I have attended have been a bit too rigid.

'˜I'll definitely attend the next meeting.'

The Network Pompey Business Club is part of the Network My Club group, one of the fastest growing networking organisations operating across the south and in London.

Network My Club also runs similar groups at Goodwood near Chichester and at the Ageas Bowl.

The next Network Pompey event takes place on Thursday, September 20 from 8.30am until 10.30am.

The guest speaker will be award-winning business coach Ian Dickson.

Annual membership costs £550 or £50 per month, which includes a company listing inside the Pompey match day programme.
