Passenger group welcomes upgrade

A PASSENGER group has welcomed improvements to Fareham train station.

Network Rail said it is about to embark on a £4.7m plan to improve the track and station, which will see it close for nine days from October 22.

David Sidebottom, director of Transport Focus, said: ‘Passengers will welcome the investment, especially when targeted at features they most care about. This includes waiting rooms, arrival time information, toilets and the overall look and feel of the station. However it is critical that they are told about the disruption and bus replacement services in plenty of time.’
