Hilsea-based estate agency ROK Marsh, along with its sister company, mortgage brokerage RBM Solutions, is running an advent calendar to dish out prizes to lucky winners.

It is the second year that director Matt Marsh has run the campaign, which is now set to be an annual staple from the company.

Last year he dished out prizes such as a meal for two at a local restaurant, an Amazon Echo, a year’s Netflix subscription, beauty treatments, champagne and lots more edible treats.

This year he’s hoping to give away even bigger rewards and give back to people that deserve it.

He said: ‘This year has been tough for a lot of people – arguably even tougher than last year when we did our first advent calendar, so it’s nice to have a bit of fun once in a while and Christmas is the perfect time for that. If we can put a smile on someone’s face and give them a little treat then that’s enough for us.’

This year’s prizes include two tickets to see Portsmouth FC play at Fratton Park, a wireless waterproof speaker and a tour of the Portsmouth Gin Distillery for two.

Matt set up both companies in September last year and has since grown them considerably, taking the team from just him and his partner Lucy Hart, to a team of eight.

The 43-year-old worked in mortgage brokering and property prior to setting up his company, which he did because he wanted to provide a trustworthy, one-stop shop for people buying and selling property.

He said: ‘We want to create a place that people can come and have most bases covered when buying and selling and be people they know they can trust. We like to do things differently. One thing I noticed when working for other companies was that being open 9-5 was not enough, so we’re all available on WhatsApp, even if it’s just to reply to a client saying that they’ll get a response the next day, just to make them feel acknowledged. We’ll even take care of the legal side of things, such as solicitors, finance and insurances all handled, for a smooth, stress free process.’
