Lee Bligh, director at Excell, said: ‘We’re delighted to have been shortlisted and are looking forward to the big event.’

Competition has been exceptionally tough this year with a 23 per cent increase in entrants for the awards, run by the Hennik Group, which also publishes trade magazine The Manufacturer.

Nick Hussey, CEO of the Hennik Group, said: ‘All shortlisted companies should be extremely proud they’ve been selected against such strong competition.’

The entrants were subject to site visits as well as a rigorous judging process.

Winners are due to be announced at a gala dinner at The Vox in Birmingham tonight.
