The past few years have proved incredibly difficult for the hospitality sector as a combination of cost of living pressures, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic effects of Brexit have pushed many businesses to breaking point.
Small, independent restaurants and eateries have been hit particlulary hard – with many forced to close for good. We’ve put together a list of some superb eateries which are sorely missed since they were forced to close.

5. Becketts, Southsea

6. Restaurant 27 - Southsea

7. Monty's Restaurant and Wine Bar - Castle Road, Southsea

8. Sapori - Lee-on-the-Solent
Italian restaurant Sapori in Lee-on-the-Solent closed earlier this month. A statement said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances and much sadness, Sapori will be closed from September 3 for the foreseeable future.
