The annual conference will be on Friday, January 26, and will be the last one hosted by CEO Stef Nienaltowski before his retirement.

Alongside the traditional updates on Shaping Portsmouth’s business, education and community pillars, Landsec Development Director Nick Davies will be outlining the £45m redevelopment of Gunwharf Quays and there will be a Q&A with city council leader Steve Pitt. The day will also feature the Shaping Portsmouth Awards and the always popular networking and exhibition, with the opportunity to buy products created by students on the Shaped By Solent programme.

Stef said: “The theme is Shaping Our Future and by that we mean the city's future. Whether that be by helping a business get started, inspiring a young person in school to see what they can achieve, or helping someone with their skills to reach an employability level that increases their opportunities, we will show what we have done and can do as we work together.

“I would love to see as many people as I can for my last conference as the leader of this wonderful organisation. It promises to be another excellent way to reflect on one of our most productive years and I hope it will inspire people to greater things in 2024.”

Steffan Jones, event lead at Shaping Portsmouth, added: “I’m very excited to be involved in the delivery of our main event. It’s become very clear to me over the past few months what an important event this is in our city’s business, community and education calendars and I hope to do it justice.”

Last week, Shaping hosted its Autumn Portsmouth Business Leaders Forum with more than 100 delegates gathering at the Marriott Hotel. Guest speaker was new city council chief executive Natalie Brahma-Pearl who gave an insight into her immediate thoughts on the growth of the city. Four members of the Youth Cabinet also outlined their activity and plans for their future projects.
